Hi people..
My weekend past in a glimspe..didnt do much things though..went to a welcome party organised by the school for international students on friday night..cost me bout S$17.50...i expect some rally nice dinner you know..at least some traditional swedish food or something..hai..it was really lousy i think... not worth the money..it was like you need to quene up for food with your plate..and it's just a salad and potato side with a grilled chicken...my god... stupid.. but there's a thing worth it for appearing at the welcome party..I made friends with 2 gals that come from hong kong who also stayed at grashagen. They are really funny and nice people..we cooked dinner and played cards together last night..have alot of fun with them...they are called Ah Sa and Rainbow...Rainbow is damn funny..kept laughing and laughing.. But her laughter reminds me of siewfong in the past..quite nice...

I went to the saturday market on saturday with a few asians.. namely Choy..Ah Sa..Rainbow..Germaine(also from NTU) and Edith( a kong kong gal but studying in Honolulu)... The market sells clothes..bread..fish..hotdogs and many more.. Ah Sa bought a small rectangular piece of cooked smoke salmon fish from the market..its rather expensive..cost bout S$ 10...guess she really miss eating fish... The seafood here are really expensive... only chicken is rather cheap i think..if u know where to get it..I bought 4 frozen big chicken drumstick with thighs for only S$ 3 ..hee..so i bought quite alot to keep in the freezer...

It has stop snowing now...quite sunny nowadays but everywhere is still white...covered with snow... i hope to be able to ski next weekend..but heard from the toursist office that the ski resort is 15km from jonkoping and that u cant get there without a car.. so probably will try to see if we could get to rent a car and drive there next weekend.. most probably will go together with our new asians frens... its a good thing most of them have got a driving license except Rainbow... She says that its very scary to drive...she prefers to be driven.. ha.. whatever...

Hi people...

I went to school for my first lesson for the semester..strategy and technology..Though I was given a brief intro of the course..I like it here..Tink its definitely better than NTU...Its a very good school I came too..Its a alot of real work I guess but everything is very organized...most probably because swedish people(called swedes) are very very organized people.. The professors gave everyone a comprehensive copy of the course information today..there's the intro to e course..e examinable components marks allocated...schedule of all e classes..contacts of all e tutors..aspects of all assignments n projects n so on... Its great...I love it here.. But its alot of work here..I started school only now and my exam is during march..just a short time for me to acquire all e knowledge...other than the lectures which u need to attend..there's 2 compulsory seminars which gives u marks n all e presentations during the seminars and also you need to hand in 2 papers after the seminars which is graded too.. and u gotta do a final project...but the most interesting thing is that there's gotta be an oral exam instead of a written one.. so cool.. the professors said that they change to an oral exam because there think that its more economical to do so..they say that its not worth it to spend a large proportion of the course budget for exam papers markers which do not add value to students...cool..hee..So interesting...and the oral exam is in groups of four...the examiner will give each people a chance to answer a comprehensive question...then after others answer..u are given the chance to elaborate, or give other views or critize or say whatever u want to say.... the whole exam will only take about an hour or so...cool ya.. and also..u get to choose the date of exam that best suits ur own schedule... there's about 4 or 5 dates for choice.. nice ya...

The school system here also depends alot on the internet..they have got a comprehensive university portal net...you do almost everything there.. but here you got to register for exams yourself on the JIBSnet..the deadline is 8 days b4 the exam..if u miss that...then even the dean can do nothing to help you..they had this policy of registering for exam yourself bcoz they say that in the past many students didnt turn up for the exam then lead to a waste of resources...coz here quite special..they need to spend money for booking of an exam hall and also for guards..which is e so called invigilators for the exam..wondered if they carried guns and will shoot u if u cheat...haha...

I think their library is great here too.. the website has alot of features.. u can access the search for a book in e library even at home..n if the book u want is cannot be found in e library but eslewhere..they can borrow from eslewhere for you..quite nice.. n the loan period here is 2 months...wah..so long..

And hor...here very kuku one...or rather they very environmentalist ah..they do not give u plastic or paper bags when u buy things at supermarket..they only provide the very lousy kinf...e one like u go NTUC buy fruits put one..e transparent kink but the quality is very much more lousy than it.. sometimes i quite scared that i carry groceries half way it will break.. and hor..u gotta pack your own stuff...the cashier at the supermarket is only in charge of scanning e items into the register and collecting money from you..thats all.. then here very cheat money one.. coz their coin denomination is only 50 cents n 1 dollar..vut some price their products like 9.90 or 7.80 then if u add together..it should be 17.70..but bcoz of the coin denomination...they always round up...so they collect 18 from you...next time i must buy items that adds up nicely to avoid this...haha..

washing clothes here has to got a timetable.. u need to book the day n time u want to wash e clothes.. u can use your key to shift the rectangular thing..every household will have one of that..cute huh..there's only 4 time slots a day..after 7pm u cant yse the machines already coz they will shake and vibrate very hard and will disturb those living near them...haha

This is my first chinese style dinner that we cook..e steamed salmon fish and rice on e left cooked with e rice cooker that choy brought over..potato with cabbage in e middle...fried eggs and the salted vegetable and chicken soup...hee.. e salted vege is so expensive..we bought it in e chinese provision shop that we found.. a small pack for bout S$4..hai..

There is this board on a pole that shows how many mins to the arrival of the buses as well here at every bus stop..quite nice... This is the bus stop where i alight to go home.. the place i live in is even as e bus stop name.. Grashagen centrum..til now i still dunno how to pronounce e place name..very hard..mainly bcoz all a with a pair of eyes on top..guess i will be able to master it after my swedish classes

there is this map that shows where you are n time schedule of buses at every bus stop here... all e buses come strictly on time...organized swedes again.. hee

a traditional bread here called semlor...one of my favourites here.. inside there is some nice sweet paste..dunno what is it thought..anyway its not very cheap so cant have it often..e cheapest i saw was bout S$2 for one..

Hi people..

I miss you guys badly!!!!

I finally settled my internet connection at Grashagen(the place where i stay in)..so glad that i can use internet at home finally..its such a hassle here..u know back in ntu..we just need to get a cable n plug it in and its usable..but here its like u gotta find the MAC Address of your lap top and then sign a contract of liability...then get ur own cable n plug it in..but worse still..i stayed with my roomie n there is only one access point in the apartment so we have to buy a router to get both of us on net at the same time... sux..cost me quite some money... n best part we bought the router but had to go back to sch to register the router or something..

Life here is very peaceful and quiet..so quiet that u can even hear an ant crawling...haha... i havent started school yet so i dun know how's the lessons like here..I'm still on an orientation week and will be starting school on 19th jan...but seems like i came to the wrong place as JIBS(my school here..prounouce as "jeeps") is a damn good school as all the international students says that they came here bcoz their school recommended it to them and heard from the old students that the passing grade was actually 60% down here.. goodness..nevermind..

My apartment was quite nice..abit small but guess its enuff for 2 person..i have got my own bathroom and kitchen.. n as i'm in sweden..everything in my house was from Ikea.. I been to the Ikea here..and realize that singapore's Ikea was actually almost the same as it was here... except that i think Singapore's Ikea's hotdog was nicer and cheaper of course.. the hotdog here had very very small bun n long hotdog...everything here is expensive.. i think mainly due to their high tax rate of about 30%..crazy...but guess the govt really needed this money as they ave damn great welfare lah..sux..the swedish university students had free education even in university and they receive a about S$800 monthly allowance just for schooling...damn it.. i start to think that our govt are mean people...

The food here are expensive too..eating out for a meal will cost about S$12..so i cook my meals everyday now.. but mostly its spagehttis and pastas..fries ..potatos..n so long...need to find some healthier alternatives i guess...i dun wan to buy 2 air seats when i head back..

I had a meeting for all international students when i reached and the best part..all of them looks like they are from here...all ang mohs... very few asians here actually...only met 2 malaysians...3 taiwanese...thats all for a crowd of 160 international students..feeling of minority isnt that good...well..i will get used to it..

I brought almost everything here from home..toiletries...some food n stuff... but din bring some toilet papers along so need to get them here but they are really expensive...so me n roomie decided to get it from the school..haha...we just a take a roll or two back home occasionally.. hee..so cheapo hor..haha
